Garlic Health Benefits :

Garlic is a very small plant, possessing very bitter and strong flavor and it is well known for its medicinal and culinary values since many years. The main substance found in Garlic is allicin, which has powerful medicinal properties that include, anti bacterial, anti fungal, anti viral and anti oxidant properties. 

Garlic health benefits are, garlic is sparingly used in the treatment of hypertension, to lower blood pressure, to improve respiratory health, to improve digestion, to clear off intestinal bacteria and parasites, to improve immune system, to regulate LDL cholesterol, to lower blood glucose levels, to lower the risk colon cancer, stomach cancer and esophageal cancer. 

However, nutritionists and dieticians did not recommend the intake of garlic in raw form, since the enzyme allicin, does not produce any positive effect on health because it might be destroyed in the stomach, when it is taken as raw form. So it is advised to take powdered or dried garlic, which produces beneficial effect on health. Pickled garlic and cooked garlic can also be taken, which also beneficial to health.
