Shruti Hassan: I got a nose-job done for health reasons
B-Town beauties are usually known to shy away from the spotlight when it comes to rumors about them getting a face-lift or a tummy tuck, but Shruti Hassan, the daughter of actors Kamal Hassan and Sarika admits without hesitation that she got a nose-job done just before making her debut in Bollywood.
Shruti admitted that she'd got a corrective surgery done in the US because she was facing breathing problems. She went through a septoplasty because of a common disorder involving a deviated septum, i.e. a displacement of the nasal septum. Shruti, who originally had an aquiline nose, now has one that perfectly matches her face.
Shruti, one of the contenders of India's Glam Diva on BIG CBS LOVE is also the lead vocalist of the rock band 'Extramentals' and was very apprehensive about undergoing the surgery for fear of it affecting her voice.
Post surgery life has become a lot easier, says the South Indian star. "I am able to sleep peacefully and sing without any difficulty. It is a minor procedure and I am greatly relieved," she explains.
Experts however have said that septoplasty involves the nasal bone cartilage, which hardly changes the appearance of a person's nose. So did the budding actress have health reasons for getting the nose-job or was there something else too?
